I woke up incredibly excited to begin the juicing journey! I made four juices in the morning:
Breast Cancer Awareness
- chunks of watermelon
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 lemon (peeled)
I was reading that by peeling the lemon while you do lose some of the nutrients, you also nix the bitter taste, so that is my plan with lemons. This juice was actually really good, the watermelon gave it a nice, sweet flavor and it is a really cute shade of pink.
Celery Cool Down
- 3 celery stalks
- 1 handful cilantro
- 1 tomato
- 2 cucumber
This juice was really good. It just had a “clean” taste to it. I love cucumber in any juice, it is such a nice blend able flavor.
- 5 apples
- 3 cucumbers
(Note: I bet this would be delicious with a Granny Smith apple…) I really enjoyed this one, too. It tasted very crisp.
- 3 cucumbers
- handful of blueberries
I love blueberries and cucumbers, so this was right up my alley. It was really nice for when I was craving something sweeter in the afternoon.
Once I got home from work I was super starved, and wanted to make something carrot-based because carrots are cheap, and good for you.
- 2 oranges
- 6 carrots
This one was really yummy. Again, the oranges make it sweeter and the carrots really fill you up, which was exactly what I needed.
My mood throughout the day was okay. I had a stressful day at work, which I am sure attributed to it. By night time I had a dull headache, but really just overall felt strange because I hadn’t eaten anything. As in, legitimately consumed. Psychologically it feels very weird not to, since so much of our life/time/money surrounds food.
I am going to try to use less fruit-based ones all in the same day. I got very carried away with the fruit today, and I don’t want my body to get used to having all that natural sugar on a daily basis.
